Blog Love: The Glamourai
April 23rd, 2012 by BiancaThis month’s blog appreciation is for style blogger Kelly Framel.
Kelly Framel (a.k.a. The Glamourai) is a NYC-based stylist, jewelry maker and photographer. This ridiculously stylish creature fills her blog with fashionable fare from personal outfits to new trends and products.
Kelly started The Glamourai in September 2008. At the time she was working as a designer at a fashion house. She says that it was while working on an Asian textile-inspired collection that she decided to throw a similarly themed costume party for her birthday. “Through the course of the night, we all made up party names for each other – and I was dubbed The Glamourai. Two days later, I nabbed the domain and began blogging!” she told the popular blog, Independent Fashion Bloggers.
Since starting her site, Kelly has become an influential tastemaker in the fashion industry, her musings followed religiously by those in the style blog community. Her fashion savvy hasn’t gone unnoticed by the big guns either. Tiffany & Co. recently selected the blogger as their eyewear ambassador and Kelly Wearstler featured her in the designer’s 2012 resort campaign.
Kelly’s talents don’t just lie in her pretty face and slender figure, she’s a skilled artist too, creating unique jewelry right in her own home. While her product website is currently going through an update (her blog went through a complete overhaul earlier this year), you can see some of her “bijoux” as they’re called throughout her blog.
Not to be pegged solely as a fashion blogger, Kelly regularly posts interior inspiration alongside fashion week updates and street fashion snaps. Her NYC pad, aptly referred to as the “Glamour Den”, is decorated with the same stylish enthusiasm as her outfits. The fabulous black, white and gold den was even featured on The Coveteur, the ultimate pairing of home and fashion.
