Karl Frenzy at Net-a-Porter
Just a day after he wowed Paris Haute Couture week with a luxury jet-set experience for Chanel’s spring-summer collection, Karl Lagerfeld sent Internet shoppers into a frenzy when Net-a-Porter released his first online-exclusive fashion range, simply titled “Karl”.
The line is quintessentially Lagerfeld, right down to stiff high neck collars and crisp white shirts. In what looks like a peak into the man’s very own closet, you’ll find everything from high top sneakers to tuxedo jackets. Every item is predominantly black, white or cream, except for a few in dark grape and one, almost out of place, baby-pink denim biker vest. Vest aside I think the range provides some classic closet staples that, like Karl, will stand the test of time.
Dubbed by Mr. Lagerfeld as more “accessible”, prices start at just $25 for a shopper emblazoned with the icon’s portrait (an item already sold out I might add). Sadly not everything can be procured so cheaply but if you’re looking for a piece of Lagerfeld for a somewhat discounted price, the Karl range is definitely worth a look.
